Mimi - Mona Poetry: Who’s Reaching Back for Me?

Running insane in the pouring rain?
You’re a standup dame; please give us your name,
Then future this when the milk is gone—
Time’s not secure when overdrawn.
All hurts fade in the light of day,
But night pains thrive in your résumé.

I was the one lured; by Spring spurred
Into annihilating kisses from disencumbered
Itinerant male tenants,
By Summer seasoned into extravagance,
And by Autumn encouraged to winter in
A nobleman’s embrace, and then

Came the meaning of Winter’s meaningless
Misery to my mind’s hopeless mirthlessness:
I was being left behind the we,
Wondering who’s reaching back for me?
Let me be the one who remains mononymously
The only name you call —exclusively.

Mimi-Mona Poetry

© I Forget how to breathe, especially when
your tongue shoves love down my throat
I gag because I can only write L-O-V-E
across your heart with permanent marker

© I Fell
hard
and I'm drowning —
just because
you fill a hole
with crap
doesn't mean
it wasn't there once

to know
I prefer Earl Grey
when picking
up the shattered,
splattered,
shredded mess
called my heart
from your first
knowing stare

POETRY - ROMANTIC: Red Lips and High Heels

©Red Lips and High Heels
Mimi Wolske, May 2014

There she lies
wearing only lipstick
(red, red lipstick) to
color the wounds
you know she might inflict
and high heels that
emphasize her complex but
redoubtable moral stature
You know she could
outwit you with her
cunning and her control
She recognizes your
need for love—
and she withholds
You love her madly,
passionately,
with feverish intensity,
as a man can only love
a woman who responds
with a petrified smile to
your ever calm and
unchanging dominance
"Pajamas are for sissies,
Darling," she says, her
sultry voice enticing
like a spider drawing
you into her web
You go willingly
because you can't
help yourself
You adore her
You want her
She belongs to you
She is more than a
mere part of your pack
She is the alpha
female who plays
to your alpha male
From beginning to end
she is your erotic
fantasy, desire,
memory, your love
